Just to say we received the lens gears today – and they are excellent.

was on a 2 week shoot in London. As soon as I got back in town, I

Hi Folks,
Just received my custom made Focus Gear Rings for Jerry at JBK Cinequip in
Hollywood, Florida and had to share this with you all.
Firstly, Jerry makes custom sizes for different lenses, you just have to
send him the diameter of the lens you want the Focus Gear to fit and he'll
make it for you. No massive gaps around the lens gear like some systems
and hassle free fitting (like a glove). No slipping or movement once you
mounted the rings. Bloody Excellent.
Secondly, no screw mounts or blocks to get in your way (impede) when
pulling those long focuses. So no hard stops when you run out of teeth on
the focus gear. Complete 360º+ movement and your teeth are still engaged
with your Follow Focus Unit or motor all the way, and some.
Thirdly, they're manufactured out of alloy so no replacing those worn
plastic zips after a few months of usage, which they do (from personal
experience).
Forth and MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL. They are extremely cost effective. $79
(US) per CUSTOM Focus Gear Ring and remember they're fit for purpose and
designed for the actual lens your wanting it to work with.
So all in all Superior in every way to the Zacuto Zip Gears, Redrock Lens
Gears and pretty much every other Lens Gear I've come across and used to
date.
Custom sizes are made to order and have a 2 week turn around.
I have no ties with JBK Cinequip in any way shape or form but felt I
needed to highlight the excellence this small independent company has
achieved in delivering a component part which is fit for purpose and not
some half hearted work around that other manufacturers seem to think will
do.

I just put the follow focus up on the camera and it works like a charm.
What a nice job it's perfect for this camera.
Thank you for the gear upgrade and the beefy tie down screw for the
rods.
I'm not a big fan of the DVX 100a but your product makes it a little
more bearable to work with.

I use the FF-206 from JBK Cinequipt. I
actually started with the FF-209 but it was too wide to accommodate the
matte box in the proper position. Jerry was great in working with me to
solve all my issues and even supplied me with a wider gear to allow for
the movement of the focus ring on some of my Nikon lenses. His custom made
gear rings for the lenses are the best I have seen.

This FF-201 was made in 2005 :This follow focus works wonderfully and is
made really well, machined and assembled here in the USA by JBK. This is a
rare, discontinued model that is in my opinion better than JBK's current
offering with features found on follow focuses costing $1500+. It is also
extremely flexible, the anodized aluminum 0.8mm main gear can be placed
inside or outside the arm, and the arm itself is adjustable for different
lens diameters without having to remove the FF or re-adjust everything. The
belt drive can also be tightened as needed using the eccentric, though I
have never had to over the year I have used it for short student films.
Standard rod 15mm rod diameter. Marking disc is clean, and the indicator arm
is adjustable. The Huco transmission has a normal amount of play and does
